Frequently Asked Questions

Who can use TeamSense?

TeamSense is designed for employers seeking a secure solution to track the confidential health status of their employees. Regardless of the size of the organization, TeamSense can scale easily with your workforce, whether you have a team of 50 or 50,000. While we support organizations of any kind, we focus on designing our products for those with large hourly workforces. We currently serve organizations in North America.

Why should I screen employees for symptoms of COVID-19?

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) advises employers to “consider conducting daily in-person or virtual health checks,” and the CDC’s workplace decision tool goes so far as to counsel organizations against reopening without such measures in place. Most jurisdictions in North America currently require or recommend that businesses implement some form of symptom screening for their employees (the precise form of screening varies by jurisdiction; consult your state and county guidance for applicable regulations).

Can TeamSense support on-site symptom/temperature screening?

TeamSense can support on-site screening through our Screener Mode, which enables an authorized screener to input data into the system, but prevents them from accessing any data history. This limited access protects the confidentiality of your employees’ health information.

How does TeamSense protect the privacy of my employees?

Our solution is designed with privacy at its core. In fact, our respect for privacy is one reason we encourage employers to enable employees to self-report symptoms at home, where employees need not worry about the involvement of an on-site screener or possible observation by their peers.

In its default settings,* TeamSense complies with relevant national regulatory bodies within the United States, such as the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The ADA typically prohibits employers from asking employees about health symptoms or measuring employee temperature except under very specific circumstances. However, during this period of an officially declared pandemic, the US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) is allowing employers to ask employees if they are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 as well as take employee temperatures. Any health information captured during this process must be stored confidentially and stored separately from personnel files - which  is easily enabled through TeamSense.

*Customers have the option to customize the questionnaires and workflows for their needs, and TeamSense is not liable for customizations implemented by customers that constitute a breach of national or local regulations. We advise customers to work with relevant Legal, HR, and EHS personnel within their organizations should they choose to create custom questionnaires or workflows.

What kind of security protocols does TeamSense use?

We believe security is nonnegotiable. All data input into TeamSense is encrypted (in transit and at rest), and stored in a secure cloud database. Our solution adheres to strict data security standards and our internal engineering processes follow industry-standard best practices. We’re more than happy to answer any specific questions you may have.

Can I customize the questions asked of employees?

Absolutely. While we will provide default templates based on current CDC guidelines, TeamSense enables organizations to customize the questions and workflows for their particular needs. We advise any customers creating custom questionnaires or workflows to work with relevant Legal, HR, and EHS personnel within their organizations to ensure compliance with national, state, and local regulations.

I have some employees whose first language is not English. Can I still use TeamSense?

Yes, TeamSense supports multiple languages and enables users to choose their language of choice. Our current offering includes English and Spanish symptom questionnaires, but we can support other languages as well - just ask!
